Dr. Scott Steward-Tharp

 

Scott Steward-Tharp, D.D.S., Ph.D. is an adjunct clinical assistant professor at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Temple University, in the Dept. of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. He is also a postdoctoral research fellow in the Dept. of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology, Radiology and Medicine at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He completed both his D.D.S. and oral pathology residency training at the University of Iowa and his Ph.D. training at the University of Oxford. He has research interests exploring lymphocyte functions within the pathogenesis and regulation of autoimmune diseases and cancer. He has authored and co-authored a number of research articles and reviews on the subject. He serves as an Ad hoc reviewer for a number of clinical and basic science journals and serves on the advisory board for the Practice Update Clinical Dentistry Channel. He has received several awards for his accomplishments, including training grants though both the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the National Institutes of Health.
