
John Reith
Dr. John Reith is currently a Staff Pathologist at the Cleveland Clinic specializing in bone pathology. He completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the Cleveland Clinic, followed by fellowships in Surgical Pathology (with emphasis on soft tissue pathology) at the University of Michigan and Orthopedic Pathology with Dr. Howard Dorfman at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Following fellowship, he assumed faculty positions at the University of Miami (1997-1998) and the University of Florida (1998-2017), where he rose to the rank of Professor. He served as the Residency Director, the Director of Surgical Pathology, and the Director of Anatomic Pathology while at the University of Florida.
Dr. Reith has continuously supported the educational mission of many societies, including the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, the American Society for Clinical Pathology, and the International Skeletal Society, and has spoken at the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology meeting previously. From 2014 to 2017, he served on the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology’s Education Committee and CME Subcommittee. Dr. Reith serves on the editorial board of several pathology journals and serves as a peer reviewer for both pathology and orthopedic surgery journals. His academic interests are in both neoplastic and non-neoplastic bone and soft tissue pathology, and he has authored several book chapters, including those in Dorfman and Czerniak’s Bone Tumors and the 11th edition of Rosai and Ackerman’s Surgical Pathology.
