
Jasbir Upadhyaya
Dr. Jasbir Upadhyaya graduated with her BDS degree from India. After practicing general dentistry for some years she moved to Canada in 2008 for pursuing higher education. Upon completion of a Ph.D. program in Oral Biology from the University of Manitoba, she entered a 3-year residency program in Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology at the University of Florida. Soon after graduation in 2018, she joined the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine as an Assistant Professor in the Section of Diagnostic Sciences. Here she is involved in didactic and clinical teaching for predoctoral students and post-graduate residents. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology. Dr. Upadhyaya has published numerous scholarly papers and a few book chapters, and serves as an Ad hoc reviewer for a number of clinical and basic science journals. Her research interests include oral cancer and precancerous lesions such as proliferative verrucous leukoplakia. In her free time, Jasbir enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and taking care of her plants.
