Professor, Departments of Dental Medicine, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and Otolaryngology, Zucker School of Medicine, Hofstra Northwell Health, at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Fantasia received his undergraduate dental degree from Emory University School of Dentistry, his Oral Pathology residency training was at Emory as well. He was an Associate Professor of Pathology at Temple University School of Dentistry and School of Medicine from 1979 to 1988. At Long Island Jewish Medical Center since 1988, he serves as Chief of the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Program Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology residency training program, which began in 1994. He is the past recipient of a National Cancer Institute training fellowship while at Emory and received an American Cancer Society Junior Faculty Award while an assistant professor at Temple. Dr. Fantasia is past president of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology (2007-2008) and has served on numerous committees for the AAOMP. He completed a seven year term as a Director and Officer of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, Board President in 2008.
