
Dr. Maria Cuevas-Nunez
Dr. Cuevas-Nunez received her Dental Degree from the University of Santa Maria in Caracas Venezuela, and her Doctor of Medical Sciences Degree in Oral Biology from Harvard University. She completed a one-year certificate program in Comprehensive Dentistry at the New York University College of Dentistry. Dr. Cuevas-Nunez subsequently completed her residency training in Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology at the Harvard University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Cuevas-Nunez is a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. Dr. Nunez is an Assistant Professor at the Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Illinois. Additionally, she holds faculty appointments in both the Division of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and the Department of General Pathology at the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where she is a consultant pathologist and is involved in the teaching of both Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and General Pathology residents. Her research interest includes looking at the expression of different biomarker in oral cavity cancers and oral potentially malignant disorders.
