
Dr. Dennis Shem

Dr. Dennis Shem is a second-year oral and maxillofacial pathology resident at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He received his DMD from Temple University in 2019 and subsequently completed a general practice residency at Weill-Cornell Medical Center in New York City. Building on this experience, he completed the Dental Oncology Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, focusing on the dental care and management of oral complications for patients before, during, and after cancer therapy. He is currently investigating the utility of IHC in prognosticating the behavior of dysplasias and early-stage oral cancers. His interests center on diagnostic surgical pathology of the head and neck, oral adverse events of cancer-related therapy, and predoctoral education.
