Dr. Carla Penner is an Assistant Professor in the departments of Pathology and Dental Diagnostic & Surgical Sciences, University of Manitoba, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Prior to graduation from UMKC School of Dentistry she was a registered nurse for 6 years. She completed a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at Emory University in Atlanta and a one year fellowship at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology In Washington before moving to Canada to begin working at the Health Sciences Centre, where she continues to practice.
Dr. Penner is a Fellow of the AAOMP, Diplomate of the ABOMP, and Fellow of the Royal College of Dentistry of Canada.
In addition to teaching pathology, ENT, and oral surgery residents, Dr. Penner also works with basic science researchers at the Manitoba Tumor Bank and is the provincial forensic odontologist.
While she has learned to appreciate some of the Canadian pastimes like curling, a love for winter still escapes her. She is elated to be attending a conference in person.
